09/22/06
Do you believe that we had another beautiful Wednesday evening? Will we get another one? Dick arrived first and was flying his SS by the time we arrived at the field. Gaige flew the Twin Jet and then his Judge. The Judge flew pretty good after he got it set on low rates. I even got some stick time on our SS. My landings were almost "on the field". Dick flew his "John Dear" which is now dressed up in some beautiful trim!!! Bill arrived with his Kaos; he claims all his electrics are packed and ready to head for NM. Jim C. arrived to lend moral support which Gaige needed as his Ultra Stick had developed a short in the wiring, so he was afraid to put it in the air. Instead he decided to try the Twin Jet again; we'll let the picture speak for itself. Just after the Twin was rescued Jack arrived bearing goodies. He had Jim C's new plane; we hope to see that in the air soon!!
Special Notice: The field will be closed from October 27th through November 13th to allow for scouting and deer hunting!!! It will be posted at that time. Thank you for observing this closed time. Fly safely!!!

Another great Wednesday night for flying!! We have been pretty lucky with the weather. Hopefully we can get in at least one more Wednesday night. Dick was first in the air with his Slow Stick followed shortly by "John Dear". Gaige had his Twin Jet buzzing the field when Bill arrived. We were taking some time to visit when Jim C, Jim H, and a friend of Jim G's arrived. Jim's friend used to fly control line, so was interested in hearing about Gordy's flights. We may talk him into some RC next year. Jim C. is working on a club logo to use on our publications and maybe t-shirts or somesuch. Jim H.'s Butterfly was going so great that he gave Jim C. some stick time. We will be seeing Jim C. solo before to long I think. Bill didn't get to fly as his plane had some difficulty on the ground. And by the way... Jim H. is definitely correct about deer, they do choose their victims. One ran full speed in front of the Blazer on our way home...a little CA and duct tape and the Blazer will be back to normal the deer was not so lucky.

Wednesday night flying: The wind held up a little longer than predicted, but we had a great turn-out. Chuck was flying his S. R. Batteries X-250. It can really rip across the field. Dick's Inferno had a mind of it's own in the wind; although he did manage a good "down wind" landing. Adrian had his Funtana up for one go across the field. After a great first flight in the morning Gaige's Ultra Stick 60 wouldn't cooperate, and it's back to the drawing board. In fact he is awaiting word from Castle on his controllers now. Jim H. flew his Butterfly and gave Jim C. a little stick time on it. Jim G's Slow Stick is spending a few more nights in the woods. We are hoping that when a few more leaves drop; its hiding place will be revealed. Jack, we haven't cut down any trees yet.....and finally, Linda's Slow Stick didn't get to fly due to a bent-up nose from a morning flight.

Weekend Flying

Hello all!! I am hoping this will be another way we can communicate and publish some photos of all our members planes. I want to try one with Dick's new glider "John Dear". If this works, stay tuned to see your plane on the web. If Wednesday night is good I will be taking pictures.
